The real first question you need to answer is whether your pop up is wired for 20 amps. Go find the electrical cord that is attached to your trailer’s breaker panel where it exits the body of the trailer. Take a close look at the male end of that cord. If it looks like a conventional household plug 2 vertical prongs and a ground spike , then your trailer is equipped for a 15 amp service. If it has one vertical prong, a horizontal prong and a ground spike, then it’s a 20 amp fitting. If it has 2 prongs set a 45 degree angle with a ground spike underneath, then it’s a 30 amp fitting. Once you figured out what your trailer is equipped for, you can move on the step of obtaining the right adapters.

I bought a 13a to french 2 pin adapter in France they are availabe at most DIY outlets, I use this on some of the older sites that only have french sockets. Get a polarity tester, I have found 8 out of 10 sites have some sockets that are reverse polarity even on new bollards! I made a reverse polarity lead up using a blue plug and trailing socket with the live and neutral wire reversed, and labelled it accordingly With all these leads I can cover any situation.

Comment Subscribe to comments with RSS. CampRicco I have two battery banks. I want to be able to plug portable bank into stationary bank for charging. Should I be concerned about the inrush current when connecting portable bank into stationary bank while battery charges are equalizing. Can a resistor be added to cable to slow current while banks are equalizing. If so where in connection and what value would you recommend. The two battery packs you have are of different capacity, so you are creating a situation where batteries are going to get overcharged.
I would recommend charging them separately. My question is can I use 1 battery for my outboard for a 12 volt starting and charging system without disconnecting the 2 batteries.
I thought that everyone could benefit from this information and decided to include it this month. RVs come equipped with deep cycle batteries for the coach. Most RVs come with a single Group 24 deep cycle battery.

We were the only tent there but there were lots of RV’s. Campground is very quiet and close to Sequoia National Park. It is in a nice location and staff is friendly. IntoTheWild87 – April We loved this spot! Our site was right on the river, quiet at night, nice staff and convenient location to the park esp since the tour company we booked picked us up and dropped us off.
Sequoia Sightseeing Tours We had only stayed at one other RV park which was like being in a giant parking lot, but this felt like camping should be. The sites are a bit close together and some spots don’t have much shade so be prepared. Also, there really isn’t store on site, so if you need provisions it is easy to stop first on your way into town- it is 2. Dog friendly but required to be on leash.
There is also a swimming hole but we did not go in- water cold but felt great to put your feet in. Stacy B – March 17, Great Spot! Camped by the river. Beautiful spots along the river, very quiet and relaxing.

Last updated on in Camping Tips Sometimes using electricity in your tent is essential, especially if you want to heat your tent in the cooler months. There are also times when a kettle, microwave, lights, and a small fridge may be useful on a long camp, as well as a bottle steriliser for babies. Not to mention a phone charger! What electrical appliances can you use at the campsite?

Tip by E ScottD on Step 14 18 hours ago Upvote 0 A couple of things, that I can see that would help your project would be to install a ground rod on the generator or the box leading to the generator grounding the circuit. It could preclude instances of getting shocked if touching something energized a hotplate and a device already installed in the home the stove, range hood etc.. Adding a ground rod would help. Also don’t run any high end appliances while on generator unless you keep a close eye on the fuel level.
When the generator runs out of fuel, it dosen’t just stop, it runs down. While it is doing this it will decrease the amount of voltage to the house.

Reply Nope, I don’t have anything in my utility room that would require All I would be running off the 2nd volt circuit would be power tools, like my bench grinder or my little router table or one of my hand power tools and 30 amps would be plenty for them. In all of the research I’ve done online and the electricians I’ve spoken with, most recommend feeding a subpanel with a double pole breaker on the main panel.
I was told the other day that I should consider using a amp breaker in the main and amp breakers in the subpanel to ensure an overload condition at the subpanel on ONE circuit would not trip the main I have a small 4 space, 8 circuit main lug subpanel rated to amps still in the box from a project that never happened years ago. The electrician I last talked with said that would be OK as long as I was only going to have 2 circuits on that subpanel I looked online and those aren’t expensive at all.
I’ve never used that before but what you said about it makes me think I should use it for this project. I looked up the specs on THHN wire and the ampacity of 8 THHN wire is 55 amps, which I think would match up well with the amp feed breaker and the distances I am going to be working with. Or do you think I should bump it up to the 6?
